Culturepath

Culturepath is a plan which gives criteria for all pupils of the basic education in Turku to visit different cultural institutions approximately three times a year.
  
Culturepath is based on the new framework curriculum for comprehensive education, in other words all cultural visits can be integrated with a school subject or with a cross-curricular theme. These cultural visits should anyhow be done, but Culturepath makes the visits more planned and comprehensive - they touch every pupil in town.

The pupils will get a notebook of Culturepath designed by graphic artist Mikko Ijäs and it can serve as a diary or as a notebook according to pupil's own interest.

Culturepath is a promise of Turku to the pupil and their family: This way we can in practice carry out the requirements of the framework curriculum. With the help of the Internet the parents can easily see the cultural offerings and with the help of the notebook of Culturepath they can follow what kind of culturepath their own children are walking on.

Culturepath can be of great importance to an individual pupil: He or she receives a good cross section of culture in Turku and in this way he or she grows up into an active and cultural member of the commune.
