Year classes 7-9

In the year classes 7-9 the nature of Culturepath changes a little, because the there will be a subject teacher instead of a class teacher.

The teacher of mother tongue has a central position, because mother tongue has at least six visits during the year classes 7-9: three library visits, all of which the library personnel teaches the library practice and how to search information, or presents books in the year class 9.

In the 7th grade pupils visit Turku Cathedral.
The social- and culture-historical aspects are attentuated. Everyone can participate
regardless of their religious views.

You have two visits to the movies during the year classes 7-9. When you are planning to go to the movies in the year class 7, it would be good if the teachers in mother tongue and in visual arts co-operated. The pupils visit the theatre at least once in the year class 8.

The teachers in visual arts and in music have an important role, too - the year class 8 can be the only year when the pupil has the possibility to be taught by a teacher who is specialized in music or in visual arts.

According to the framework curriculum in visual arts you go to the movies together with mother tongue during the year class 7, one visit to Turku Art Museum and an optional visit in visual arts.

You go under guidance of the music teacher either to a concert by Turku Philharmonic Orchestra or to some other concert.

In history you make a visit alternatively to Handicraft Museum or to different alternatives offered by Forum Marinum.
